Juliette Jaimes is making a big name for herself in the music industry for writing great lyrics and producing hit pop songs with her music partner Steve Welton-Jaimes. Her success includes ‘Kiss Kiss’, originally a hit for Tarkan was written for Warner artist Holly Valance. It became a pop hit all over Europe and reached Number 1 in the UK and Australia in 2002. The song not only helped launch Holly Valance but also took her to the top of the charts with her first release. The song also features in the US hit film What A Girl Wants (starring Amanda Bynes and Colin Firth), Jenny Frost from Atomic Kitten fame has also recently released a Juliette and Steve song, having a No.1 club hit with ‘Crash Landing’. Juliette recently has had songs featured in the movies School For Seduction and Nina’s Heavenly Delights.
Juliette and Steve are currently collaborating with some of the UK’s top dance producers. DJ Paul Harris from Dirty Vegas - H MEN (Show Ya Love) is set to be released on Apollo / Universal in the Summer.
DJ Hixxy remixed Sacrifice and Take Me With You, both written and sung by Juliette on the Clubland X-treme Hardcore 3 album released December 2006. Another release this Summer is with electro / dance producers Hook ‘n’ Sling. Bump (Go Crazy) has been number 1 in all the UK dance charts. To be released on CR2 Records who were behind the massive hit Put Your hands Up For Detroit by Fedde Le Grande.
Juliette and Steve have also been working with Italy’s number one rock vocalist Gianna Nannini whose latest album Grazie went diamond, (platinum sales 5 times over!). Writing lyrics for one of her most played songs off of the album Sei nell
Anima produced by Wil Malone the result is breathtaking. Re-titled Hold The Moon
it is now set for a worldwide release for Gianna on Universal Records.
Ooh La La is a catchy remake of Romanian pop duo Morandi‘s hit Beijo (oh la la). It was number 1 in Romania for 9 weeks making it the biggest airplay record ever! With the new lyrics written by Juliette and Steve this could surely be as big a hit as Kiss Kiss.
Massive club anthem Close To The Edge Solex / Michael woods written by Juliette and Steve and sung by Juliette was released on many compilations and featured in the movie Paparazzi.
Juliette has also written for many international artists including Russia’s biggest-selling act Alsou, Brazil’s Sandy & Junior (who sold 5 million albums in Brazil alone) and Universal’s South African superstar Deborah.
Aside from writing for the pop world, Juliette ‘s songs have been recorded by Preeya Kalidas for the feature film Bollywood Queen which was released (via Redbus) in the UK on 17 October 2003. The film is from the producers of Bend It Like Beckham and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival (World Cinema Section). The film then went on to receive rave reviews at Cannes and sell internationally via Arclight Films. The film stars Preeya Kalidas who was also the female lead in Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s west end musical Bombay Dreams. Preeya sings the key track Butterfly which was written by Juliette Jaimes and produced by Steve Welton-Jaimes and Darran Bennett. Soundtrack Available.
Juliette also wrote the catchy song Smile, Smile Crocodile for Steve Irwin’s feature Crocodile Hunter: The Collision Course which was used heavily on the trailers promoting the film.
Other commissioned songs include Juliette’s Chaos Honeymoon, which was specifically written for the feature film Chaos & Cadavers starring Keeley Hawkes, Nick Moran and Rik Mayall.
