Guy Michelmore
He has scored over 150 natural history films for BBC, Discovery, National
Geographic and Survival and regularly travels to far flung parts of the
world to record musicians. His most recent trip took him to Madagascar
and Kenya. Aside from these adventures to capture authenticity he has
also worked with orchestras in Germany, Poland and the UK. Guy's
film and television credits include: Guy was the composer on the Emmy award-winning Inside Story - The Ape Trade and Eye Witness, the Wildscreen award-winners Survival Special: The Tide's Of Kirawira and Here Be Dragons, the Golden Panda award-winner Little Fish in Deep Water and he won Best Score for Tale Of The Tides at the Montana International Wildlife Film Festival. His music for the BBC 1 series Mzima: Haunt of the River Horse was also nominated for Best Music at Wildscreen 2002. Guy's score for Mark Deeble's The Queen Of Trees has been nominated for two Emmys. When he's not travelling to exotic locations(!), Guy runs a production music library which specialises in music for news and current affairs programmes. He is also extremely committed to running the World's only distance learning course for film and television composers which now has 700 students in 16 countries and if this was not enough he is on the supervisory board of the National Film & Television School's music department and runs a course in the United States through the Film Music Institute in Los Angeles. Guy's studio is based in sunny West London where he has two all digital studios, a large live area with grand piano and large quantities of ethnic percussion and other esoteric instruments.
