Barrington Pheloung Born in Sydney Australia, Barrington Pheloung first became involved in music at the age of six when he was given his first guitar. Since then his chosen career has extended into all areas of the music industry.
Recent productions include Sharon Maguire’s Incendiary (starring Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams) for FilmFour and Capitol Films, Anand Tucker’s Red Riding 1983 (starring David Morrissey, Mark Addy and Sean Bean) for Revolution Films / Channel 4 and Tucker's And When Did You Last See Your Father? (starring Colin Firth and Jim Broadbent) for Number 9 Films and FilmFour. Barrington also collaborated with Anand on Disney’s dysfunctional romantic comedy Shopgirl (starring by Steve Martin, Claire Danes and Jason Schwartzman) for Hyde Park Entertainment.
"Barrington's score for "Shopgirl" added such a lush layer on top of our film. His compositions are simultaneously thought-provoking and incredibly emotional. Given that our movie was about the complications and comfort of love, it was essential that our score capture the myriad nuances of that - all while subtly building to a powerfully moving resolution. Barrington gave us all that and more." - Jon Jashni (Producer) - Hyde Park Entertainment for Disney
He also recently conducted the RPO with Lesley Garrett, Alfie Boe and Sir Willard White at The Royal Albert Hall for The Music Of Morse weekend which was broadcast on Classic FM and ITV and presented by Michael Parkinson "Barrington Pheloung is a brilliant composer. His knowledge of the classics as well as his incidental music unites so well with the beautiful architecture in the films at Oxford. His knowledge of the use of music in films has made him one of the most interesting and understanding composers that I have ever known" - Chris Burt (Producer of Inspector Morse / Lewis) "The hugely talented maestro who was commissioned to be the music supremo for the TV series was Barrington Pheloung. The first sign of Barringon's genius appeared earlier than the first sight of John Thaw, with the introductory theme music - that fusion of fine melody and the rhythms of the Morse code. The signature tune was quite simply, a poignant, haunting motif that set exactly the right tone and mood for the whole series" - Colin Dexter (Creator of Inspector Morse) Further television work includes: The World of Nat King Cole, Portrait of a Marriage, Stanley and the Women, Channel 5 News, Good-bye Cruel World, Blood & Peaches, Mickey Love, Cinderpath, Brown Bears Wedding and the sequel White Bear’s Secret, Days of Majesty, The Legends of Treasure Island, Mosley, The Politician’s Wife, Dalziel and Pascoe and Cor Blimey.
He
has also collaborated with Revolution Software

games Broken Sword I, Broken Sword II
